Eye Doctors' Away!



Today was the appointment with the Opthamologist today. It went well. But the Dr said that with all the auto-immune problems I have, it is surprising that my eyes are in such great shape.
There is a little bit odd shape to my right eye but he said the final measurements don't draw any negative conclusion.

He said that if I get the infection again he wants to see it all gucky.
He did recommend that I add a liquid tears to my artificial tear use.
I have Sjogrens Disease and I have super low tear and saliva production, and I have used artificial tears for years. I even have mouth spray for creepy swallowing moments.

Besides the Dr appointment, Carl and I went down to Knit or Knot to take the final photographs for the big blog spot on them.
I will set up the prints and then write my post and it will be checked over by Norma on Thursday night. Hopefully I will be able to launch my Knit or Knot post by the end of the week!

I have photos of so many fibres and nifty needles and great knits and wonderful patterns, all for a winter of great fun!

This morning a package arrived from Yarnpie.
It is my major prize for my Socks for Sheep contribution.

What Charity are You Crafting For?

This Weekend Was the Church Bazaar where Socks For Sheep Made an appearance!

So Yarnpie really went all out with her presentation of Socks for Sheep at the Church Bazaar!
I encourage you to click on the photo to get a closer look! I can see my little sheep on the right side of the presentation board! Oh and my cupcake pin cushions with sprinkes are on the left of the table! It is so great to see all our wares out there.

Yarnpie had real success! She said that the table brought in:

I will definitely begin my bazaar gifts in the next few weeks. I feel that this program of Socks for Sheep is a real world, and attainable, goal. I am really excited about how many folks find the time to do a little bit. Once those little bits go together it creates something so grand! I will prepare to create bazaar works to support charity like this.

My First Socks For Sheep!

I am very excited! Since I have been on medical leave I have only done one craft type.
Last year I worked on the Stain-glass Painting Windows.
It has been about 10 months since I did a craft of any sort.
The treatments I get, plus my need for proactive behavior in my own recovery has limited how much activity I can do in a day.

I really wanted to be part of Socks for Sheep!
A bunch of knitters are getting together to support a gal who is knitting wares to sell at a bazaar. The proceeds from this endeavor will be donated to buy sheep and llamas for a family who could make a living to support themselves if they had these animals.
I planned and planned so I could add this craft time into my day!

I am really proud of myself. I know exactly how long it takes me to make my wares and I have planned this knitting into my recovery day!

Carl is very supportive. He is happy when I begin to try new things, and figure out how I can fit them in to the limited time a day that I can actually do a craft or read or sit in one place.
This is a huge feat for me. I cannot do anything for longer than 20 min at a time, so I must plan my events. ( Going to the grocery store is even a planned event. Something I used to take for granted before)

Carl is also glad I am doing this because we have a large amount of yarn in our house taking up space! Anything that can get rid of stuff is OK in Carl's mind!

This is my first Socks for Sheep project!
No it isnt a sock for a sheep. Even though it is the right size.
It is a mini Christmas Stocking ornament.
I make mitts and socks ornaments.
Some will be sewn up to be cat toys, and some will be as you see here...for ornaments!
