I Am Trying Something New

Today at between 12 noon and 1PM in Toronto time (GMT-5) there will be live streaming video here of the Premiere of Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince in London.
I have never used this service before so I am taking a chance that there wont be any snags.
You can expect advertisement in the feed.

I hope this is a rewarding opportunity for Harry Potter fans who are my readers, so they get to see the live coverage today!

Here in Toronto the hype begins tomorrow when Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) comes in for two live interviews back-to-back. Contest winners for MOD and CTV will be announced tomorrow too.

There may be some news concerning Me and The Toronto Harry Potter Events. Negotiations are taking place for me to cover the events for Feltbeats. The Official Tom Felton Fan club. Send me all the luck you can so I can get my PRESS PASS!

What Do You Do When You Are Burnt Out?

Gather up all the knitting projects that have a couple of rows left to finish, and read...

I am on pg 172 of Harry Potter.
I finished the John Saul book. Yep, "Voices at midnight" is a vampire book. I won't give away anything on any of the books.
I don't want to spoil things for folks.

I will tell you that Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows is reading as well and perhaps even more interesting than the first book. It sucks you in right away and there is beauty in the background. I can envision the movie winning cinematography awards for this one.
It will be bright and dark. A great combination for the final book.

I am not a quick reader or a dedicated reader like most of my friends, but I believe I am making the quickest progress yet, on this last of the series.
I remember reading and listening to the first four books.
I was driving truck then, and I would have the tape playing and my truck partner Deb would be yelling at the characters in the book as we drove.
Neither of us slept much during the Harry Potter runs. We wouldn't want to miss any of the story. I really enjoyed Jim Dale in the audio, as much as I enjoyed the reading.

I was so close to purchasing the audio of this too. I only hesitated because I would love a set all in CD. My first 4 are on cassette tape. So I think I will put those on my Christmas list.

I am really excited about this read.

I put this pic up because it may have gotten missed in the big photo array at the beginning of the week. This will be one of my new lace sweaters for fall. I am really excited. All of my knitting projects are just rows away from completion, and I now don't feel like a total dit for having so many projects on the go.

Knitters will agree with me when I say that I have hard ones that require concentration for days I have time and energy to put into them, and easy ones I can even do in the dark for days we are talking our watching a movie or out with friends at a pub or cafe.

I also picked up a few bags this summer that I can tote my work in. I have a million of em, but new ones are just so fun!

Harry Potter, John Saul, Three knits, two Ontario cities, and Four Long Drives

Oh boy!
I have myself in a tither.
It all started with Niagara On The Lake and ended with a trip back to Pembroke to see Carl.

And of course I saw the Harry Potter movie twice, I started another audio book by John Saul called Midnight voices (I think it is building to a vampire story) and then....I went and picked up my new Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows book at chapters. I vowed I wouldn't read it till I finished the audio book, but alas, I did start it. I just glanced at the first page and WOOSH! I was sucked in!

I am home again and tired. I am not in pain, like I usually am after anything fun, but I am tired. I am a slug, and I plan on being a slug the rest of the week.

While I was away I started my lace sweater....my other lace sweater...geeze too much knitting on the go.

Of course it is summer, so that means reruns on TV, so that means no TV!
So I am here reading blogs to vote on my Best Breast pieces tonight, plus knitting like a maniac.

I really feel very behind in the knitting lately. I have been knitting continuously, but I just don't seem to get one of my pieces finished. I am close on two. Very close. One strong morning of knitting and done close, but I just dont know if I will be successful tomorrow.

I really want to have something done for Knotty Knitters group on Thursday.
So I am betting on a Productive Wednesday morning!

I didn't leave behind my knitty friends. I went searching for the bestest souvenir for knitters to get, and I think I found the cutest things for the gals.

Harry Potter and The Order Of The Phoenix Was Amazing
(This blog should hit 20,500 viewers today)


If you want the whole story word for word, you wont get it.
Of course you won't get it.
No one can ever mimic the book when doing the movie, when the book is so long and detailed.


The movie does a great job of bringing all the stories together, so there is an understanding of the books essence.
Yes it is a darker film.
It is more grown up for sure.
We get to see how the teens are forming relationships with the adults as they come together to build the Order of The Phoenix.

The movie moved well.


I am curious to learn more of the lady who played Tonks.
And Old Umbridge...I could just kill her.

I must say though that Umbridge is a character we have all met at school. That one teacher whom never makes friends with students or staff. And they almost always have a very pink sense of fashion.

If you are a fan of the books and the movies so far, you will not be disappointed by this movie.

Of course my mind is already racing to what the next movie will be like now.

Upp....won't be long till the new book is released.
Our trip to Pembroke will prevent me from picking up my book till the following Monday.
It will be exciting.

For those of you who have not secured delivery of a book in Canada, I suggest you go to Shoppers Drug Mart first thing in the morning on the release day. 8 days and counting.

My favourite character in the series so far is Tonks. I think she is like me. A little more than one bargained for-on a Sunday afternoon.
I think that Mrs. Weesley is most like me in appearance and action.
