The Knitting Frenzy Has Begun!

I was over at Knit or Knot today. I had my second meeting with the owner Norma. She has got a whole slue of stuff that has come in for this season.
The books are amazing!

She is just going over my pics for the blog on it, and then we will get down to some good ole dirty knitting gossip for this season of knits.

In the mean time I will show you what I picked up. It is a Nova Scotia Mohair in three textures. All set for an afgan. Pattern included. Instead of the regular afgan I am going to mod it to be an afgan cape. It will have a slit on the diagonal to allow you to wrap it having all points facing down. Like a poncho with a slit instead of a hole. The slit will go from the centre to the end of one point. This is so a point goes down to each wrist and down the back and down the front is the point from the slit.
I will decide later whether to put a button or horn or fastener to close it. I hope I don't have to.

I am making this for me. It is my best try at copying a cape shawl Laurie leant me to go to Europe. It was so great! I could use it as a cape, shawl or lap afgan as I needed it.
Now I will have one of my own!
My Christmas present to me.

These are three books from the shop. They are written by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee.
These are comic adendoms to a knitter's world.
Stephanie is also known as the Yarn Harlot.
These books need to be on every knitter's wish list.
Next week I will have up the stuff so you can order them from Knit or knot.

The little one at the bottom right is little verses of inspiration.
They are so funny, and priceless!

Wow - a beautiful yarn and fun books! You've really had a fun time at the yarn store :o)

I like your idea for the pointed poncho - I'm almost done with my Fall Shawl and the weather says I need it already!

Looks gorgeous! I can't wait to see the finished product. I'm working on a basic afghan right now.
